Forest School is a teaching method that lets children learn outdoors through play and discovery. The concept has been developing in the UK since 1994, inspired by Scandinavian models of early years education and outdoor life and influenced by educationalists such as Steiner, Dewey, Montessori and MacMillan. Students attend regular outdoor sessions where they explore nature, try new activities safely, and learn at their own pace. By doing hands-on activities in nature, children build confidence and learn to believe in themselves. This teaching approach is used by many trained teachers worldwide, who help children learn in creative ways outdoors.
