
Interactive Groups are a type of Successful Educational Action that have been shown to improve academic achievement, psychosocial wellbeing and social cohesion in schools from early years to adult education, and in any context where they are implemented. It is the most effective form of classroom organisation that capitalizes on peer interaction and community involvement to improve learning outcomes and wellbeing. Students are organised into small heterogeneous groups and each small group has the support of an adult volunteer who ensures equitable participation and maximizes opportunities for dialogic interactions among peers, helping and supporting each other. Interactive Groups can be used for any school subject and require no additional resources from the school.
