STUDENET is an online community of practice connecting students from historically under-represented backgrounds with counsellors, tutors, and teachers. By providing access to resources, guidance, and peer support that might not exist in their immediate environment, it helps students navigate challenges and thrive in their educational journeys.

Why STUDENET?

Students in vulnerable situations can face many challenges, including financial, cultural, language, and institutional barriers that make learning or staying in school more difficult. Research shows that having supportive peers and role models can make a big difference, helping students feel more confident, set higher goals, and overcome obstacles.

Our goal with STUDENET is to create a safe and supportive online space where students can ask questions, get guidance, and connect with peers, teachers, and mentors across Europe. The community draws on SCIREARLY’s collective “funds of knowledge” to provide tools, resources, and inspiration that help students pursue, persist, and succeed in their educational journeys.

Researchers and civil society representatives from SCIREARLY also join STUDENET as equals, sharing advice, experiences, and resources alongside students and teachers. By participating in this collaborative environment, everyone can learn from each other, build confidence, and grow together without hierarchy or barriers.
