Introducing the SCIREARLY Toolkit: Effective Learning Strategies for Educators Across Europe
The SCIREARLY Toolkit is a practical, research-based resource designed to support teachers and school leaders in creating stronger, more inclusive learning environments. It offers strategies that promote academic achievement, assist students who are struggling, and foster social and emotional development in classrooms.
Developed through extensive research across nine European countries, the Toolkit is based on 20 case studies drawn from real schools that have successfully addressed underachievement and reduced early school leaving. These case studies provide concrete, evidence-based practices that educators can adapt and apply to their own local contexts.
The Toolkit is structured around five key dimensions of effective learning environments. It reflects insights gained from primary and secondary schools across Portugal, Ireland, Finland, Denmark, Spain, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Malta. By focusing on what works in diverse educational systems, the Toolkit offers adaptable solutions that support both academic learning and student wellbeing.
One of the key goals of the Toolkit is to empower educators and communities with the tools they need to help every child reach their full potential in school. It promotes an approach to education that values both academic progress and emotional support, helping to create more equitable outcomes for all learners.
To ensure accessibility across Europe, the Toolkit is available online in seven languages: English, Greek, Spanish, Finnish, Italian, Portuguese, and Maltese.
