This tool emphasises the critical importance of fostering student wellbeing in schools, particularly in the context of the post-COVID era. Research demonstrates the positive influence that school environments can have on student mental health outcomes. The supportive relationships between students, teachers, and other school staff play a vital role in promoting wellbeing and reducing psychological distress among adolescents. The primary school featured in this tool is a state-run institution in Malta, which has demonstrated notable improvements in student academic performance in recent years. The school is situated in an area undergoing rapid urban development, specifically within the Inner Harbour region. The community surrounding the school is largely comprised of residents from lower socio-economic backgrounds, with relatively few migrants in the population.
